The PDP is having some problems within their party. At a recent meeting, some lawmakers who support the acting chairman and the FCT Minister tried to show their support, but it didn’t work out.
The plan didn’t work because 60 PDP lawmakers stood up against it. They want to change and improve the PDP and stop people from going against the party.
Remember the group called G60, led by the Honorable. Ikenga Ugochinyere, the honorable. Ali Mustapha and Honorable. Awaji-Inombek Abiante and other people have been asking for changes in the party. They want the person in charge to step down so someone from the North-Central can take over. They also want to punish anyone who is causing problems in the party.
The phone calls led to many things happening, like a meeting and other disagreements in the party. It also made more groups support the G60 and ask Damagun to leave.
It was disappointing for the supporters of the acting leader of the PDP and the FCT minister, who was accused of being loyal to the APC when the expected support from the PDP representatives did not happen.
Most of the PDP lawmakers at the national level did not agree to let the meeting continue with that decision. The gathering was organized by a supporter of Wike and a leader of the smaller group in the House, Hon. Kingsley Chinda, and the minority whip, Hon. Ali Isa JC, representing all the PDP members in the House of Representatives, was involved in intense and serious political debates, which ended without a vote of confidence for Damagun.
Someone at the meeting said that the G60 group didn’t back down and said that it was time for the PDP to fix things and stop the harmful actions within the party. They want to start by appointing an acting chairman from the North-Central region and making changes to improve the party.
They want to punish party members who are working against the party and supporting the APC, like the FCT minister Wike and his group.
The lawmakers want the caretaker PDP executive list to be fully formed with no changes or new names added. They also want the current executives to act as caretakers for three months until the new elections.
They said that no one should change the list in any state because it’s not allowed and people will fight against it.
