Senator Godswill Akpabio, the President of the Senate, promised to protect the rights of Nigerian media workers.
Akpabio said this in a statement from his media adviser, Hon. Eseme Eyiboh is celebrating World Press Freedom Day in 2024.
He said: “On behalf of the Senate and the National Assembly, I want to congratulate all journalists, especially those who have risked their lives to find the truth and seek justice. “
“The 10th National Assembly supports press freedom and will not allow anything that harms the rights of journalists. “
The lawmaker also told the media industry to work hard to talk about climate change and teach people about it.
