The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) detained Bilkisu Suleman, a 28-year-old woman who supplies ammunition to bandits, while she was traveling in Kano State.

As part of the anti-drug agency’s New Year’s interdiction efforts in several states, law enforcement took her into custody on January 3, 2024.

Authorities discovered 249 rounds of live 7.62 mm ammunition concealed in a black bag inside Bilkisu’s handbag.

Femi Babafemi, the director of advocacy and media for the NDLEA, claims that Bilkisu was traveling to the Katsina State town of Kakumi to provide ammo to a known bandit.

In a press release, Babafemi emphasized that the arrest of Bilkisu was a component of a larger operation that led to the capture of twelve other suspects in the states of Kaduna, Lagos, Niger, Kogi, Kano, Borno, and Osun.

In a different occurrence, the NDLEA Lagos State command received 63 giant bags containing 2,104.2 kilograms of the cannabis strain Ghana Loud, together with Francis Suru, 37, and a truck. The military officials at Bonny Camp cantonment in Lagos made the transfer.
