The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) said that in the last week, soldiers have killed 188 terrorists, arrested 330 others, and rescued 133 hostages in operations within the country.

 

Major General Edward Buba, who is in charge of Defence Media Operations, said on Friday that the troops caught 36 people stealing oil and found stolen products worth N637,710,310. 00

 

Major General Buba said that during that time, the troops found 270 different weapons and 5,083 different types of ammunition.

 

He listed the recovered items as: – 122 AK-47 rifles – 47 homemade guns – 47 old-style guns – 24 automatic pump action guns – 8 homemade pistols – 2 homemade single barrel guns – 1 double barrel gun – 1 hand grenade – 1 homemade explosive device

 

Other things found included a lot of ammunition for different guns, magazines, radios, vehicles, motorcycles, bicycles, mobile phones, and a lot of money.

 

At the same time, soldiers in the Niger Delta found and got rid of 21 places where oil was being processed illegally, 51 holes dug in the ground, 24 boats, 21 tanks for holding oil, and 4 vehicles.

Soldiers found 28 ovens for cooking, 672,350 liters of stolen oil, and 90,530 liters of illegally refined AGO.
The spokesperson for the Defence also said that lots of terrorist leaders have been killed, and they are still determined to beat terrorism.
“The army is doing well in the fight against terrorism because they have killed many terrorist leaders. “
“We will keep citizens safe using the resources we have,” he said.
