Before the election for governor of Edo State, ex-governor Adams Oshiomhole told President Bola Tinubu that the local branch of the APC is “together and ready to go. ”

Oshiomhole told reporters yesterday after visiting Tinubu in Lagos for Sallah.

Oshiomhole, who is also a Senator for Edo North, said he is sure that the APC will win the next governorship election in Edo State.

“We need to have elections soon. ” We are happy and making sure everything is ready for the election. We will win because our party is united and we have resolved all the problems from the primaries.

The APC leader said the party has made a “campaign council” and is excitedly waiting for INEC to tell us when the election will be. Then we can start the campaigns on April 24th.

Oshiomhole believes that the APC has a good chance of winning, but he also knows that the party’s opponents, like the Labour Party, are having their problems.

“Our opponents are having problems, and even the Labour Party is having problems. So at least the APC is not having any problems,” he said.

Oshiomhole, who was the governor of Edo State from 2008 to 2016, told Tinubu about what’s happening in the state and said the president is supportive of the APC’s work.

“We are all waiting for INEC to start on April 24th. ” I told him everything about it. We are happy and he is there for us like a father, but we won’t rely on him to vote for us because he won’t come to Edo to do it,” Oshiomhole said.

The APC leader said the party needs to vote and get people to support their campaign message that Edo people can understand and connect with.

Oshiomhole said he came to visit the president for Sallah and to say thank you for the good changes he is noticing.

He said the Naira has become stronger, going from 2000 to 1100 against the dollar.

“I heard a story from a foreign news source this morning that says the Naira might be the best currency in 2024. The story says that in Nigeria’s history, when the Naira loses value, it never goes back up. ”

He noticed that a lot of Nigerians were trying to make money by guessing the value of the dollar when the Naira reached 2,000. They were worried that the value of the Naira would keep going down. But now they have lost a lot of money because the Naira is becoming stronger again.

The ex-labour leader praised the Central Bank of Nigeria for managing the foreign exchange system well, which helped the naira to improve.

“We are seeing the central bank using effective tools to quietly control the system so that the value of the naira is increasing and stabilizing,” he said.
