A well-known APC supporter in Akoko-Edo local government area of Edo State, Hon Ogini Kingsley Topa, has switched to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) before the governorship election on September 21, 2024.
Topa, a person who works in the community and is known as ‘ward 1 governor’, used to be in charge of the committee for works and Housing in the local government area.
He left the opposition party to support Governor Godwin Obaseki in making progress and development.
Topa said yesterday that Obaseki appointing Marvellous Omobayo from Akoko-Edo as deputy governor shows his love for the people of Akoko-Edo. He said that the people there have been left out of politics even though they are the biggest council in the state.
He said, “We should focus on helping our people instead of focusing on party politics. ”
Obaseki has proven that he helps people who are treated unfairly and left out in the state.
“Yep, I used to be in APC. But what Obaseki did for the Akoko-Edo people by choosing Marvellous Omobayo as deputy governor shows he cares about us. It will be remembered in history. ” We are thrilled to have a sense of belonging.
“I want all people from Akoko-Edo and Edo to work together with Obaseki’s PDP party to make Asue Ighodalo the next governor. ” I can tell you for sure that Akoko-Edo supports the PDP party, and the PDP party supports Akoko-Edo.
