Gift Monday, a striker for the Super Falcons, is committed to leading the squad to a podium finish at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

To guarantee their spot in Paris 2024, the West Africans defeated South Africa’s Banyana Banyana 1-0 overall.

Speaking with BNN about her goals for the upcoming Olympics, Monday acknowledged the difficulties that lay ahead while maintaining confidence in her team’s capabilities.

“The team is united, resilient, and determined,” she declared. We can bring home a medal for Nigeria if we continue to perform like we did at the previous World Cup in Australia.

Our main goal is to qualify out of the group; once we do that, anything is possible. We are in a tough group, so I know it won’t be easy.

“Hopefully, we will advance to the medal-winning stages by taking each game as it comes. “.

 

On Thursday, July 25, the Nigerian Super Falcons will take on Brazil in the opening match of the 2024 Olympics.

The Stade Matmut-Atlantique in Bordeaux will host the Group C match. It kicks off at 6 p.m. Nigerian time.

The world champions, Spain, will play the nine-time African champions in their second group match on Saturday, July 28 at the Stade de la Beujoire in Nantes.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. Nigerian time.

Three days later at the Stade de la Beujoire, Randy Waldrum’s team will conclude their group stage campaign against Japan. The game starts at four o’clock.

After a 16-year break, the Super Falcons are returning to the Olympics.
