Former student leader John Akinmurele is the only candidate the Young Progressives Party (YPP) is offering a free nomination form for the upcoming Ondo State gubernatorial election.

Akinmurele a former president of the Students Union Government at Adekunle Ajasin University in Akungba Akoko Ondo state was provided with nomination and expression of interest forms at no cost to him for the event which was held at the party Abuja headquarters.

The YPP National Working Committee (NWC) decided to provide the candidate with a free platform according to Mr. William Moses the party’s national organizing secretary who also handed the candidate the forms.

He said that the party provided Akinmurele with the platform to fulfill his political ambition because he was a young man of integrity high pedigree cognate experience and leadership quality.

The party’s vision for a generational shift in leadership a revolution that would be driven by highly cerebral mentally progressive and young innovative leaders without greed according to Moses was supported by the decision. He said that Akinmurele met all the requirements and possessed all the qualities the party needed for leadership and that they were confident he would lead the party to victory in the upcoming elections.

According to the candidate, he was both excited and committed to the development and thanked the party NWC for their generosity. This presents a challenge to me to live up to the immense trust placed in me. It will force me to enter the election fully prepared to win and initiate a radical change in the state’s gubernatorial landscape. I can guarantee you that this development marked the beginning of the paradigm shift in our political environment.

As our democracy progresses it is evident when a political party provides a nomination form to a candidate at no cost in contrast to other political parties that charge an absurd N50 million for them. We are approaching the necessary steps to establish a trustworthy political leadership he declared. According to Akinmurele, his goal is to lead Ondo State with courage and to inform the populace that they have had enough of mishandled governance.

His campaign slogan he claims is Iya yi which means that the suffering of the people has ended. A state where my people live in extreme poverty despite having the longest coastline in Nigeria a large amount of arable land the world’s second-largest untapped bitumen deposit palm trees alongside other valuable trees and cropland. A state that ought to make the nation proud but regrettably the state in which we currently find ourselves is unacceptable.

Staying at the bottom of the ladder is not something we can afford. That is the reason he was telling the people of Ondo State to iya yi to—put an end to their suffering. With his rise to power, Akinmurele promised poverty hunger starvation poor infrastructure delayed salary payment and maternal and child mortality have come to an end. .

The state’s reign of terror mismanagement debt and despair is coming to an end. . My message is one of hope and a better Ondo state he continued. I speak for the younger demographic the new generation. I am bringing the youth’s energy with me and I will inspire my colleagues and the youth and make the elders proud… I’m going to save the state of Ondo.
