Godswill Akpabio the president of the Senate has advocated for legislative cooperation between the Serbian and Nigerian parliaments. At their meeting on Wednesday in London Akpabio made the call to Ms. Ana Brnabic the President of the Serbian Parliament.

According to a statement from Jackson Udom his Special Assistant on Media Akpabio and Ana Brnabic the President of the Serbian Parliament had a thorough discussion about issues of mutual interest to both countries and how to strengthen parliamentary cooperation between Serbia and Nigeria.

We also talked about issues concerning the International Parliamentary Union (IPU) during the meeting which was called at Ms. Brnabićs’s request.

A future meeting between the two lawmakers has also been scheduled. During the meeting, the Serbian lawmaker extended an official invitation to the Senate President of Nigeria to visit Serbia at a later date according to the statement.

Following his provocative speech on the needless bloodshed in Gaza and his call for a cease-fire during the recently concluded meeting of the body in Geneva Switzerland Senator Akpabio was recently elected to the Executive Committee of the IPU. He has been performing well in this capacity for the past few months.

Cyprian Terseer Heens Nigeria’s acting high commissioner to the United Kingdom and Asuquo Ekpenyong chairman of the Senate Committee on NDDC accompanied Akpabio to the meeting according to the release.
