Nottingham Forest asked for their four-point penalty for breaking money rules to be removed, but they were unsuccessful.

The Forest team lost four points because they spent more money than they were supposed to over three years. An independent group from the Premier League decided this in March.

According to the rules, Forest could have been given a six-point penalty, but the Premier League gave them a less harsh punishment because they admitted their mistake early and cooperated well.

The forest team defended themselves in a meeting on April 24, but a separate group decided to keep the original punishment.

The Premier League said Forest believes the commission made a mistake by not considering the sale of a top player as a reason to lessen their punishment, and by not choosing to suspend some or all of the points they were deducted.

However, they said that the appeal board rejected all the reasons given and allowed the independent commission to impose the punishment right away.

Forest is currently 17th in the table, and they are three points ahead of Luton Town and the relegation zone. There are two matches left in the season.

The club said they were very unhappy with the way the Premier League talked about them. They were also surprised that the Premier League didn’t think about the club’s special situation and reasons for what happened.

A report from theathletic. com said that Forest felt they were not treated fairly compared to other Premier League clubs because those clubs had more money to spend.

Nuno Santo’s team will play against Chelsea on Saturday at the City Ground, and then they will have their last game of the season against Burnley.
