Over 18 million people watched the women’s NCAA final game on Sunday. Iowa and player Caitlin Clark lost to South Carolina. This information comes from Nielsen.

 

The popular game between Iowa Hawkeyes and star Caitlin Clark ended in a loss for them against No. South Carolina’s game on Sunday got more than 18. 9 million views, according to ESPN and the audience rating company.

The men’s team from Connecticut versus. The Purdue game on Monday had 4 million fewer people watching, with 14. 8 million viewers, according to Nielsen.

This was the first time that more people watched the women’s final match than the men’s, according to Nielsen.

 

The South Carolina Gamecocks won against the Iowa Hawkeyes in the women’s final with a score of 87-75. This win stopped Iowa from getting their first national title.

South Carolina won all their games and had a perfect season. It was the 10th time in history this has happened in women’s college basketball.

In the final game for men, UConn won for the second year in a row, beating Purdue 75-60. It was the first time a team has won back-to-back titles since 2007.

UConn won their sixth national championship. Only three other teams (UCLA, Kentucky, North Carolina) have won six or more titles.

The women’s final was on ESPN and ABC, and the men’s final was on TBS, TNT, and TruTV.

Both championship games had more viewers than last year, according to Nielsen.

The number of people watching the men’s went up by about 129,000. Last year 14. 694 million people watched, and this year 14. 823 million people watched, according to Nielsen.
