Peter Obi, who is running for president with the Labour Party, responded to accusations from the government that he is encouraging trouble because he thinks the Coastal Highway Project is not important for Nigeria right now.

Obi is sticking to his opinion even though people are saying he’s making the situation worse. He thinks the project will make people lose their jobs and even poorer. He doesn’t want the project to happen.

He also said that we should focus on fixing local roads first to help the economy grow.
The ex-governor of Anambra State talked about the demolition that happened while he was in charge. He said things were different then and he didn’t understand why they weren’t talking about the problem of spreading poverty.

“I want to address the lies being spread about my actions and words when I was governor of Anambra State, especially regarding the building of the Lagos-Calabar coastal super highway. ” I want to talk about these issues directly, without using political language, so that everyone can understand.

“I want to be very clear: When I was governor, I made it very clear that any buildings in the way of roads that didn’t have permission would be taken down. ” The video made it clear, and I only asked for it to be taken down after construction had already started. That’s not true at all. I ask anyone to prove to me that the buildings that were destroyed on roads or near businesses were not built illegally while I was governor.

“To make things clearer, think about specific examples. ” I destroyed the Onitsha North local government building that was on the stadium and then built a new office for the government in a different place. This had to be done to turn the stadium back into a place where people can play sports. Then, the stadium was named after the first owner of Nigeria’s first football club, Chuba Ikpeazu, to honor our heroes, according to Obi.

Yunusa Tanko, a media spokesperson for the Obi, said that the Onitsha South Stadium, which is the only place where the community plays sports, has been changed into a government office.

“I understood how important it is to have places where people can relax and have fun. So, I changed the area back to how it was before by tearing down and moving the government office. ” I fixed up the stadium and gave it a new name, naming it after the longest-serving Green Eagles captain, Godwin Achebe.

“I planned my actions carefully to focus on fixing and taking care of our current buildings and roads instead of starting new projects that could cause problems and damage. ” This plan was made to protect the way people make a living in Nigeria and make sure resources are used well.

“It’s important to clear up the wrong connections people are making between what I did on Brewery Road and the new coastal super highway project. ” I never suggested making a new road that would cause problems for current buildings. Instead, I worked on clearing things that were blocking the roads to make it easier and safer for everyone to use.

“The ongoing building of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road is causing a lot of people to lose their jobs and make it hard for them to make a living. This is very different from what my administration is trying to do, which is to make better infrastructure while also trying not to hurt communities. ” he said
