A group of community groups in Nigeria called the Network of Civil Society Organizations has complained to the EFCC about Senator Monday Okpebholo, who is running for governor as part of the APC. They say he has been misusing Nigerian money.

In a letter dated May 2, 2024, both Comrade Victor Kalu and Alh. expressed their support. BNN caught Ali Abatcha with a fake Naira note. The coalition reminded everyone that this is against the law and can be punished according to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Act of 2007.

The group also asked the Nigerian Police Force and the Independent and Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) for help.

The group said that it is against the law to spray or write on Naira notes during parties.

They are upset that important people, like politicians, have broken the rules of the CBN Act.

But they praised the EFCC for quickly arresting and charging people who were filmed damaging the Naira at parties.

They talked about Mr. Okuneye Idris Olarewaju, who is well-known as Bobrisky, and Mr. n Pascal Okechukwu, also called Cubana Chief Priest, is in trouble with the law.

The coalition praised the EFCC for its actions. They also asked for the prompt arrest and punishment of anyone seen in viral videos disrespecting the Naira, because everyone should follow the law.

The coalition wants the EFCC and other law enforcement agencies to investigate a video of Senator Monday Okpebholo abusing and damaging money. They say the lawmaker should be responsible for his actions as a representative of the people.

The group said they will organize a peaceful protest against the EFCC because they didn’t do anything about the viral video of the Senator. They think the EFCC is being unfair and only taking action against certain people.

“We will take the EFCC to court for not doing their job and to get a judge to explain the CBN Act 2007 (As Amended) as it relates to the video of Senator Okpebholo mistreating the Naira,” they said.
