Without a doubt, Kogi State needs to continue to be a safe and secure place for everyone to meet the goals of our policies and programs. “It is a privilege to have this event because it is a concern for us. It has been reported by statistics that children may fall three or four times a year and that you may have to pay at least N6000 each time. Make sure you get tested if the results are positive youll receive free medical care. Additionally see to it that you finish the course of treatment he said. John Gabaya the chairman of the Bwari Area Council expressed gratitude to the partners for the gesture particularly for selecting the Bwari Area Council. The chairperson expressed her gratitude to PanAfricare for their ongoing support of malaria awareness and control in the area council and this was done through the supervisory councillor for health and human services Sa-Bwaja Moris Atnadu.

Thank you so much for the gesture especially for selecting Bwari Area Council I truly appreciate it. As a council we sincerely appreciate it and will keep on supporting this program to make sure it succeeds. We also want to say that we will be supporting the participants during this time to ensure that they show up in large numbers receive the care they need and receive whatever is intended for them. . The community activity that the NGO carried out was one of the events that the NMEP had planned to commemorate World Malaria Day according to Dr. Patrick Adah country director of PanAfricare.

In fact he explained the purpose of World Malaria Day is to raise public awareness of the disease and its many preventive measures including the use of insecticide-treated nets which can increase a persons chances of avoiding malaria if they sleep under one every night.

He said that it is also an opportunity to inform the public about the type of treatment and medications used to treat malaria as well as the requirement that anyone with a fever get tested to confirm that they have the disease before receiving treatment. We have worked to raise awareness about malaria control over the years and as a result more people are using nets and becoming more aware of the disease than there was previously.

As a result we have helped spread the word about malaria control. . If you conduct a knowledge survey today you will discover that more people than ever before are aware of the tools being used to control malaria. This has increased knowledge and as you know knowledge is power. Knowledge dispels ignorance if you have malaria youll know what to do.

You know you need to be tested when you have a fever. Before now a lot of people took self-medication because they didnt want to get tested before treating malaria. However I believe that number has also decreased. Many people now know that when they have a fever they should ask for a test when they visit a clinic they dont just ask for drugs they get tested first before receiving drugs Dr. Adah said. ”

One of the recipients Mrs. Aisha Adams expressed her gratitude to PanAfricare for the kindness stating that her children would be better protected from mosquito-borne illnesses as a result of the nets.
