Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan from Kogi State is happy about the EFCC’s work to catch and punish the former governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, for stealing N80. 2 billion

She also praised the EFCC chairman, Ola Olukoyede, for giving 14 properties that were initially taken by the government back to the State and its people.

Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan said that it’s important for the EFCC to look into other corrupt public officials so that people don’t think they are just targeting Bello without reason.

The politician was surprised that Bello didn’t go to the EFCC when asked. He said no one should be able to ignore the law.

In a video that many people have seen, the head of the EFCC said that the former governor of Kogi State told him that a female Senator had gathered journalists to embarrass him every time he went to the agency’s office in Abuja for questioning.

“I asked Yahaya Bello, who is a governor, to come to my office and explain himself. ” I should not have done that. He said he won’t come because a Senator put more than 100 journalists in my office.

“I told him he could use my private gate for cover, but he wanted my men to come to his village to question him,” Olukoyede told journalists about EFCC’s plan to arrest Bello.

However, Senator Natasha from Kogi State reminded former Governor Bello to respect Nigeria’s laws and constitution, considering his previous role as the chief security officer of the state.

“I was shocked to hear that Yahaya Bello did not go to the EFCC when they asked him to, even though he used to be Kogi’s top security officer. ” He used to be a governor, so he should know how important it is to follow Nigeria’s laws and constitution.

“It is known that when someone seeks fairness, they must also be fair themselves. ” So, I think he should go to the event and prove that he is innocent while he can.

“I want to thank the EFCC for working hard on the case. ” No Nigerian can escape the law, so the agency has to finish this case to show everyone they are serious about fighting corruption.
